 COUNTRY MUSIC AND THE B-I-B-L-E

Tract Number 66

Country music has swept this land for many many years.  Many live and survive on this music.  Many could not make the day without this dominating force.  Even Gospel music is being patterned after the country music style.  The Devil will use anything to get the attention of men and women.  If he can make you pat your feet and stir the flesh it makes him happy.

Christian’s in particular should avoid country music.  Country music will feed your soul with an unhealthy diet of lust and desires.  Country music is noted for its wine, women, and song.  You can gain nothing Spiritual for your soul listening to country music.

There have been a lot of husbands that have become unfaithful to their wife because of this trashy music that stirs the flesh into sin.  Likewise, there have been a lot of wives become unfaithful to their husband listening to this music.  James 3:11, "Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?"

No.  You cannot sing Amazing Grace in Church on Sunday morning and sing the world’s songs on Monday and be right with God.

Many Church folk will disagree with this because they like country music.  I have had Deacons to tell me that they see nothing wrong with Country music.  There are even preachers who have lost their power with God, if they ever had any, that think that country music is okay.  God said to make a joyful noise unto the Lord.  Country music will not be a joyful noise unto the Lord.  There is nothing wrong with music if it is the right kind of music.  Look at what God says:

Ephesians 5:19-20, "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;"

God said speaking in SPIRITUAL songs.  There is nothing spiritual about a tear in your beer.  Most of your country music singers even indulge in alcohol and drugs along with adultery and fornication.  Many end up broke, become alcoholics, drug addicts, and suicidal.  For a Christian to build his or her life around this type of life style is contrary to the Word of God.

As a Christian, we are to watch the kind of diet we feed the inner man.  Honky Tonk music may excite the flesh but it will do nothing to bring you closer to God.  On the contrary, it will do much to take your heart far away from God.

You can measure your spiritual temperature by the kind of music you listen to.  If you listen to country music your mind will stay in the gutter and not on the Lord.  The inner man must be fed on the things of God and not on this world to remain spiritual.

If you are not saved, please repent and give your heart to the Lord before it is too late.  If you have been saved and still listen to this filthy music, then bow your head and ask God to show you the truth.  If you have an open mind wanting to know the truth, then God will show you.  If your mind is already made up and you don’t care about the truth, then there is no need to ask the Lord.

If you ask the Lord from the depth of your heart to show you the truth about country music, I am sure that you will see that it is wrong.  When the Lord shows you the truth, burn all the filthy records and tapes plus anything else that pertains to it.  Get it as far away from your mind and sight as you can.

Begin feeding your soul on the things of God.  Get hooked on the Lord and His work instead of the works of the Devil.  These words are given in the wonderful Name of the Lord.
